Abstract Purpose Results of the first ASHP National Survey Health-System Specialty Pharmacy Practice are presented. Methods A sample 230 leaders in health-system specialty pharmacies were contacted by email and invited to participate a survey hosted using an online application. The was compiled from member lists, through review data other surveys indicating presence pharmacies, outreach organizational leaders. response rate 53.0%. Most dispense 30,000 or fewer prescriptions per year, have annual revenue $100 million less, part entity eligible 340B Drug Pricing Program, operate 1 pharmacy location, at least accreditation, nonspecialty medications addition medications, employ average 13 pharmacists 15 technicians. More than two-thirds (68.8%) no more half written their providers due payer network restrictions limited distribution drugs. practice model includes access electronic health record (100% respondents), technicians dedicated specific clinics (64.9% 57.7%, respectively), pharmacist involvement treatment decisions drug therapy selection prior prescription being (64.9%), documenting recommendations progress notes patients’ (93.4%). (83.3%) offer experiential formal education pharmacy. Top challenges that respondents expected face next year included restricted networks drugs, Program changes, shrinking reimbursement payers. Conclusion represents integrated advanced incorporates medication-use management across continuum care.
